Now retired from the pools, Laure Manaudou remains very popular with the French public. On the private side, the swimmer can only be congratulated for her ability to move into the post-career, both professionally and personally. Recently, she opened up about a change in her private life between her younger years and today.

Laure Manaudou doesn't stop! Well beyond her sole role as a consultant on Télévisions, the thirty-year-old continues to multiply projects in recent times. In addition to her – admittedly controversial – diploma in kinesiology, the former swimmer has recently become involved against food waste. In an interview with Gala, she explained her commitment to Hello Fresh:

Food waste is a subject that concerns us all, especially as parents. When I discovered that each French person throws away on average 30 kg of food per year, I was struck by the magnitude of this figure. It's huge! To illustrate this reality, I tried to swim with a jacket weighing 30 kg to symbolize this waste. It was mission impossible. I sank to the bottom of the pool instead! It was a really impactful way to show how urgent action is.

Laure Manaudou has changed completely when it comes to food

It must be said that today, the woman is very careful about what she puts on her plate and in her body. She explains thus:

To take care of my figure, I try to have a “healthy” life by paying attention to my sleep, I don't drink alcohol, and I play sports, which also allows me to feel good about myself. head. My tip for not snacking is to make juice, mainly cucumber, apples, lemons, ginger and kale or orange carrots lemon.

Healthy foods, certainly, but which do not make you dream, and which the mother of the family has not always consumed. Indeed, when she was a professional swimmer, things were very different!

When I was a top athlete, I was younger and I didn't pay attention to my diet, with a lot of sugar. Because I did at least 6 hours of sport per day and I could afford to eat sweet foods, while still retaining plenty of starchy foods. It's different now.

This admission is surprising, since one might have believed, on the contrary, that Laure Manaudou would have been the most attentive to her diet during her years at the top level. It is in fact the opposite that happens, even if the former protégé of Philippe Lucas continues to appreciate good meals. A big fan of duck parmentier, she adds:

I don't have a favorite restaurant. I like to eat well but what I like most is the atmosphere of the place, the people who serve us who make sure we have a good time… In mind, the one I'm thinking of is is the Café des Artistes in , because there are lots of small dishes to share. It's very user-friendly.

Yet one of the best swimmers in the world at her time, Laure Manaudou did not even fully optimize her performance with a fully adapted diet. Enough to make Philippe Lucas feel even more regretful, who has several times considered that his collaboration with Manaudou would have been a waste, and that many other medals could have been gleaned…
