VIDEO “I’m leaving!” : Annoyed after a remark from Pascal Praud, a CNews columnist leaves the set live

Just after Romain Desarbres’ morning show, Pascal Praud orchestrated a new edition of Time for the pros Wednesday May 29, 2024 on CNews. The broadcast was punctuated by a very tense exchange with one of its columnists.

To decipher the subjects that were stirring the news, the host, who was forced to urgently interrupt an interview with Marion Maréchal, was able to count on the presence of Dominique Jamet. The atmosphere became explosive between them when a tribute from Nicolas Sarkozy to Valéry Giscard d’Estaing was broadcast.

“It’s pathetic!” : very tense exchange between Pascal Praud and Dominique Jamet on CNews

It’s very moving to hear the man of ‘get lost, poor idiot’ pay tribute to Giscard d’Estaing“, commented the columnist of the show where Pascal Praud burst into tears. A remark which made the host jump. “Frankly, it’s pathetic! I can’t tell you anything else… This is what I think: it’s pathetic!“, he said to Dominique Jamet while not hiding his exasperation from the viewers.

Well okay, I’m leaving! If I’m lousy…“, replied the columnist. Pascal Praud did not let it deter him. “It’s pathetic! What you said there, I find it pathetic!“, he insisted before Dominique Jamet interrupted him: “This is an opinion that I find derogatory… This story is not shabby! Sarkozy is an agitated president…“.

It makes me laugh to see Nicolas Sarkozy giving lessons in history, dress, dignity…”, added the CNews columnist. “I find what you said pathetic!“, replied Pascal Praud before launching: “Well goodbye, thank you!“. The host then launched a page of advertising and when it returned, Dominique Jamet had disappeared from the set. And he did not return there by the end of the show…

A situation that Pascal Praud wanted to clarify with his loyal viewers. “Dominique Jamet left… I asked him to come back to our show, it had been a few years since he stopped doing television. Well, he got offended… I didn’t tell him he was lousy! I said: ‘It’s pathetic to reduce Nicolas Sarkozy to that sentence…’. After the sequence we had seen, it didn’t seem appropriate to me. That wasn’t the tone of that sequence…“, he regretted.
