Slimane agreed to participate in “Rendez-vous en terre stranger”, the show presented by Raphaël de Casabianca. The episode, broadcast on Tuesday May 28 on France 2, shows the singer and host in Guinea-Bissau, a coastal country in West Africa. They are more precisely on the Bijagos archipelago, which has more than 80 islands. The one who reached 4th place at Eurovision and who “is not an adventurer” faced everything he feared during filming.

Slimane arrived by canoe on a beach in the archipelago, where he met the two brothers Edgar and Negado. They all become strong friends. The adaptation difficulties were not cultural, but rather climatic. In the second part of the evening, when he returns to the set about his experience, Slimane recounts the fears he encountered during filming. “I can go anywhere, but the only thing that freaks me out is the jungle, the humidity, the snakes. Really everything I describe as being the thing I wouldn’t like… Well, I’m falling for it. And when I arrive, I am faced with real fears,” he explained.

He even ended up admitting: “If I had known exactly what was going to happen to me, I don’t know if I would have said yes… The air was completely unbreathable. There were dangerous snakes. At night, we slept very poorly. I’m super proud of myself,” confides the artist in “Ciné Télé Revue”. The long three-hour walks in the middle of the jungle were also part of the complicated moments of this adventure for the singer. “The humidity level, which is very particular, played a role on this trip and on the way I experience it all because it’s like being in an asthma attack all the time,” he concluded. .
