Laury Thilleman: “I experienced real mental and physical emotional chaos”

Laury Thilleman spoke about burnout and mental health with the media “Lou”. In an extract posted on May 21, 2024 on Instagram, Miss France 2011 explained: “I thought I was invincible, that anything could happen to me. I hit my own truck in the face, but a three ton.” The facts occurred in 2022. “For ten years, I was caught in a whirlwind of requests, of meeting the expectations of others, and I believe that deep down, I did not really listen to myself,” said the one who does not advocate cosmetic surgerye.

“And at 30, it didn’t fail: my body gave way, my head gave way, my heart told me stop. I experienced real emotional, mental and physical chaos,” revealed chef Juan Arbelaz’s ex. She added: “It was like a black ball that was deep inside me and it came out without me even seeing it coming.”

Emue, the 32-year-old Frenchwoman, who is now a television presenter, recalled the importance of “taking care of yourself and your mental health”. To cope, Laury did not choose the path of therapy. She went to Bali. “I left with my little backpack. I went to do what I love most in the world: surfing. It was my therapy,” she explained. “Exactly a year ago”, she broke her knee while surfing. An injury which put her on forced rest and forced her to “live in slow motion”. It was with her parents, in Brittany, that she found refuge during her convalescence. “It took me four months before I walked again. I had a work stoppage. I said no to 18,000 things and it was the greatest gift of my life. As I learned to walk again, I learned to love myself a little again,” she concluded.
