Dorian Lauduique and César de Rummel form the most listened to French electro duo in the world. They make crowds dance all over the world, from Madrid to Los Angeles via Casablanca, Dubrovnik, or Berlin… They explode all the scores: 4 billion streams, 18 million monthly listeners on Spotify, twice as many as there at Nakamura, nine international tours. And they have been number one for two years in the very serious export charts of the National Music Center. They are releasing a new single which they are showing exclusively on Inter.

They met at age 11 in a college in Paris

It was 20 years ago during a fire alarm. Dorian remembers: “It was a false alarm, but we had to line up in pairs and that’s when we first spoke. Our first discussion was not about music, but about animation. We were eleven years old, we had small camcorders and we made stop motion films with our Playmobils. » Caesar adds: “Dorian is my only creative friendship. We spent our afternoons creating, instead of just playing. Offenbach started when we were 11 years old. »

A success concocted in their bedroom

Offenbach: “Our success makes us even more happy because we do everything in our room. We start all the songs at home, and we finish in the studio. We start alone on our side of the room before joining together to gather our ideas. And then, we do a sort of ping-pong by sending the projects to each other via Dropbox on the Internet. It’s a message for young people: we can make music that exports, music that works internationally by working on a computer with ultimately not much. »

Heirs of the French touch

Offenbach: “We feel lucky. Thanks to the French touch, we were taken seriously within a huge label abroad. Radios come to us thanks to the French touch. We are more grateful than proud. We don’t yet feel legitimate in saying that we are part of this French touch because it is so much a part of the history of music. The objective at the start of our project was above all to have fun and to make people dance. But we’re looking to evolve towards something a little more written in a kind of ultra-coherent visual and musical universe with a strong message. »
