Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly purchased a property in Portugal, according to the Daily Mail.

Princess Eugenie, the prince’s 40-year-old first cousin, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, also own a property in Comporta, an hour’s drive south of Lisbon on the country’s west coast.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to have fallen in love with the country they visited last summer during a romantic three-night getaway to the Costa Terra and Ocean Club in Melides.

The area has been nicknamed “the Hamptons of Portugal” due to its popularity with celebrities like George and Amal Clooney, who have also reportedly been looking to buy a home in the area.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly purchased the property more than a year after King Charles III evicted them from Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, following his younger son’s departure from the royal family in 2020. The couple officially packed up and left the cottage, which then reportedly returned to Prince Andrew, before flying off to North America in June of that year.

Prince Harry and his wife rarely stayed at the Windsor Estate when it was their official residence in the United Kingdom.

The couple currently lives at their Montecito estate in California with their five-year-old son, Prince Archie, and three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet.
