It’s official, Luc Noël, emblematic host of RTBF and face of the cult program Jardins&Loisirs will retire on May 31. If the show will continue only on social networks, with two new columnists, what about the famous parody of The Grand Cactus by Jérôme de Warzée which made the “green-fingered” presenter even more popular.

“We are going to have to make a big decision,” concedes Jérôme de Warzée, the bandleader of RTBF’s Grand Cactus, whose last issue of season 9 will be broadcast next Thursday. Martin also recorded Luc Noël’s column yesterday.” Before continuing: “Now, we’ve been saying to ourselves for a while that we should try something else. Because we had also anticipated the fact that Luc Noël was going to stop. We just told ourselves that we would continue until the end. Now we will have time to think about what we could do for the start of the school year.”

Same story with Martin Charlier who confirms to DH that he shot the last Gardens & Leisure column “to pay tribute to him” and who wanted to leave him a message. “I know that Luc Noël has often taken my parodies badly but I want him to know that I have deep admiration. I couldn’t have done that if I didn’t have respect for him. I always have a lot of respect for all my characters.”
