In November 2023, a first complaint was filed by a young minor woman at the time of the events against Sébastien Cauet. She accused the latter of having imposed fellatio on her on two occasions. This first complaint was followed by four others. Legal actions which resulted in the opening of a preliminary investigation for “rape of a minor over 15 years old” et “rape”. Cauet has always denied the facts with which he is accused but was still indicted for rape and sexual assault on four women. Last May, after spending two nights in a cell, Sébastien Cauet was presented to an investigating judge. He was placed under judicial supervision“with in particular the obligation to pay a deposit of 100,000 euros“and of”follow care“, specified the public prosecutor. The investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal had also requested that the host be prohibited from returning to the studios to practice his profession. A decision countered through of his lawyers who requested relief from judicial review in July.
Tuesday October 8, Cauet once again made people talk about him, but in a “good way”. His lawyers were delighted with good news for their client as they revealed in a press release. “As counsel to Mr. Sébastien Cauet, we are delighted that the truth of this case is beginning to emerge and that justice is taking it up,” they began by writing. And to continue: “We can only congratulate ourselves that one of the people who tried to extort funds from him on the basis of false allegations is currently in police custody in the police premises in Paris”. Masters Xavier Autain, Simon Clémenceau, and Jade Dousselin specified that “cThis confirms the extortion attempts in order to extract funds from Sébastien Cauet in disregard of his innocence.. “We hope that the Prosecutor’s Office will take seriously the slander of which he has been the victim for a year and for which he filed a complaint in November 2023. The exploitation of sexual violence by cynical and unscrupulous people imposes judicial authority on unfailing prosecution. These behaviors are intolerable and must be continued.”they concluded optimistically.

Sébastien Cauet replaced on NRJ
In the meantime, Sébastien Cauet is still sidelined from radio and has even seen his time slot on NRJ be filled after the void he left with his departure in November 2023. Indeed, on the evening of Monday September 30, Jean-Paul Baudecroux, the director of NRJ group, organized a back-to-school conference at the Grand Rex in Paris with its advertising clients and the press. The goal was to share in broad daylight the latest news introduced for this season, both on television and radio. The group’s director announced that after several months of negotiations, it is towards Camille Combal that NRJ turned. The TF1 star will present a new show called “Drive” and this, “in events” as indicated. Sébastien Cauet remains presumed innocent of the facts with which he is accused until the conclusion of the investigation.
