The well of anecdotes that is the Netflix documentary “Mr. McMahon” never seems to run dry. This time it’s Paul Heyman who takes the floor to tell us the complicated relationship between Vince McMahon and his son Shane.

The 2022 Royal Rumble probably marked one of the peaks in the tensions that seem to punctuate their relationship. Vince came to the point of handing Shane a knife and offering to plunge it into his heart to prove how much he cares about his creative ideas. Paul Heyman says:

“The biggest moment I saw between Vince and Shane was an argument over the creative side. Shane had this idea that he really believed in and Vince completely disagreed. Usually when he There’s a beef with Vince, when the temperature rises, it rises really quickly.

Vince finally turned to Shane and said, “Not as long as I’m alive!” Vince was eating and then he took his knife and gave it to Shane. He said to her: “Here (pointing to his heart). Come on, right here! If you want to implement your creative idea that much, stick your knife in here. This is what you will have to do to implement your idea. If you don’t, I’ll know you don’t have enough balls, and I’ll have to take that into consideration going forward. Or you just have to buy the WWE, like I did with my father. If I stop you from doing what you want, prepare to deal with me like I did with my father when the same situation arose!”

Seems like Vince McMahon probably isn’t the person you’d want to negotiate anything with…
