(New York) A year after telling her story in a 1,000-page autobiography, Barbra Streisand has approved a multi-part documentary about her life, to be directed by fellow Oscar winner Frank Marshall.

The documentary, announced Thursday by Sony Music Vision, does not yet have a title and a release date.
It will feature rarely seen videos, photographs and audio recordings from Streisand’s personal archives.
Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney, whose long credits include films about Paul Simon and Steve Jobs, will produce.
Marshall, who made documentaries about the Beach Boys and the Bee Gees and produced classics such as Raiders of the Lost Ark And The sixth sensesaid in a statement that the film about Streisand would “illustrate why she has become an enduring icon for global audiences of all generations.”
Sony Music Vision presents and distributes the project in partnership with its longtime record label, Columbia Records.
“For years, I have been thinking about how best to share the vast amount of content I accumulate safely in my vault,” Streisand, 82, said in a statement.
“These films, photos and music, many of which have never been seen or heard by the public, contain some of my most cherished memories. I’m so happy that producer Alex Gibney and director Frank Marshall agreed to take this journey with me. »
