With a goal as noble as it is original, Valérie Roberts launched a barter channel on Instagram on Thursday morning.

Its goal: to provide a home to a family of listeners in need by Christmas.
Inspired by the famous project of Kyle MacDonaldwho managed to exchange a simple red paper clip for a house in 2005, Valérie takes up this concept to create a surge of generosity and mutual aid.
On Instagram, she shared a photo accompanied by a pencil stamped with the CKOI logo, explaining that it was the first object in her barter chain. His message is full of enthusiasm and hope:
“ This is the CKOI pencil which begins the barter chain! Kyle MacDonald did it 20 years ago with his one red paperclip, @microdefeu did it afterwards… He had a house, but he exchanged it for a stuffed monkey ???? I’ve been wanting to for years redo the concept and it’s happening NOW: let’s go, I want to give a house at Christmas to a family of listeners in need. What will you give me in exchange for my pencil? »
An inspired and united initiative
Valérie embarks on this adventure with the same determination as Kyle MacDonald, hoping that this first object can quickly become much more, thanks to successive exchanges.
His call for solidarity has already aroused the enthusiasm of his subscribers and many listeners. The proposals received included a tanning machine, a USB key, a frame of Guillaume Latendresse autographed, Beats headphones, a mini oven to make breakfast sandwiches, and more.
But Valérie confirms in the comments that the first exchange has already been concluded: “ We exchanged the pencil for two tickets to go see the Laval Rocket on November 20 + parking! Next exchange tomorrow “.
