In addition to her immense talent, her raspy voice sets her apart! In the 7th art industry, particularly in the world of stand-up, Doully leaves no one indifferent. On stage, she dares everything in front of her audience. Not hesitating to laugh at herself when she dissects her past as an ex-junkie. A sensitive subject that the artist addressed this Sunday April 28, 2024 opposite Audrey Crespo-Mara in the new issue of the portrait of the week of Seven to Eight broadcast on TF1.

During his youth, the comedian sank into drugs before drowning his torments in alcohol. Having suffered numerous overdoses, the main person survived three cardiac arrests. Suffering from two invisible genetic diseases, Doully had no choice but to pull herself together. “I have two genetic abnormalities, I have too much in my blood“, the star first explained transparently. “My illness causes me to accumulate iron in my blood“.

I have no stability on my feet

With humor, she slips: “I am Iron Man. I have to go and bleed myself… They haven’t changed the name since the Middle Ages. You bleed at the hospital so that blood can be removed because I store it. Alcohol fixes iron in the blood. During her exchange with Thierry Ardisson’s wife, Doully also mentioned her second pathology which causes her to suffer on a daily basis: Charcot-Marie Tooth disease.

This very disabling neurological and hereditary disorder mainly affects the arms and legs. To date, there is no treatment to slow down its progression. “It’s a disease that causes your foot to be very arched, it atrophies the tendons a little.s”, specified the distinguished guest of Audrey Crespo-Mara who openly makes fun of it in her shows. “I have no stability on my feet and it makes my hands shake too“Detail which means that it often falls.”It’s degenerating so inevitably it’s not going to get better.” said Doully. “Standing is very complicated… And I chose to do stand-up“.
