Biographer Philippe Durant has published “Alain Delon, a French Destiny”, a collection that looks back at the star’s career, love life and also his darker areas.

10,000 euros in his underwear, a gun on him constantly, exasperated by Benoît Poelvoorde…: Alain Delon’s former bodyguard talks about his daily life with the star

Philippe Durant returns in particular to sometimes vague aspects of his life, such as the rumors of bisexuality: “The rumors that have circulated about him are innumerable,” he confided to Ciné-Télé-Revue, “I have written biographies on Gabin, Belmondo, Audiard, I have never seen that. They have put everything on his back. Often wrongly, in my opinion. On his bisexuality, I have heard incredible ones, without ever having a direct witness, or even close witnesses. The only certain thing is that his career started thanks to the homosexual community of the cinema, which protected him. But whether he had affairs with these gentlemen, we know nothing about that.”

In his book, Philippe Durant cites a certain Pedro Pubill Calaf, a fashionable gypsy singer at the time, who allegedly received proposals from both Nathalie Delon and Alain… “That’s the only lead I have, and it doesn’t go further than the bedroom door. He didn’t open it, so we don’t know what could have happened,” comments the author.

“His family was pitiful”: Brigitte Bardot angrily denounces the “terrible conditions” in which Alain Delon died

And to conclude: “There are doubts, let’s be honest, but no proof. It’s possible that he tasted it, because he seduced men as much as women. After, to what extent, I have no idea.”
