This owner uses all means to evict tenants before the end of their lease

In the center of Nice, the tenants of a building have found themselves in an extremely precarious situation since their building was bought by a new owner. As reported by Nice Matin on August 31, these residents, whose lease runs until January 2025, must now deal with very difficult living conditions. In particular, water and electricity have been cut off, leaving the tenants completely destitute. The current owner blames his predecessor for these cuts, claiming that the latter terminated the contracts when he sold the building.

But the difficulties don’t stop there. The new owner has also started work on the building, informing tenants with a simple message taped to their doors: “A lot of noise and dirt will be produced due to work. We ask you to leave the building as soon as possible, before the date indicated.” However, the tenants are entitled to stay until 2025, which makes this evacuation request all the more problematic.

Among the tenants still present, a couple decided not to give in to the pressure and to keep their accommodation despite the difficult conditions. They explained to our colleagues that the workers caused damage to their apartment during the work, going so far as to create a hole in the wall after threatening them with a sledgehammer.
