UNITED STATES – A scenario that repeats itself. In the state of Georgia, a teenager opened fire in his high school on Tuesday, September 4, killing four people – two students and two teachers – and injuring around ten others. The suspect is a 14-year-old boy named Colt Gray. The young man was arrested in the act, on campus, by a police officer assigned to the school’s security. He quickly realized that if he did not surrender, the officer would open fire.”described local sheriff Jud Smith. “He gave up, got on the ground and the officer arrested him.”he added.

No known links between the victims and the shooter

“This is a 14-year-old student at this high school,” Georgia State Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey told reporters, also saying the boy was armed with an AR-15 rifle. Investigators are still trying to figure out how Gray managed to get the weapon into the school, which has about 1,900 students.

The teenager opened fire and killed two other young people, aged 14, as well as a male and female teacher, both of whom were mathematics teachers. Nine other people, eight students and a teacher, were injured.

According to the local sheriff, there is no known connection between the alleged shooter and the victims. Initial questions asked of the teenager by investigators also failed to reveal his motives.

The FBI had already investigated the teenager

On Wednesday evening, the FBI revealed that it investigated the teenager in May 2023 after photos of firearms and several anonymous threats to carry out a school shooting were posted online, the FBI reported. The Independent.

The teenager’s father eventually told investigators that the weapons in question were hunting weapons, to which the teenager did not have unsupervised access. The boy denied making any threats. The FBI then concluded that there was no “no probable reason” to arrest him or take other legal action.

After the shooting at Apalachee High School on Wednesday, the young “ will be prosecuted for murder and tried as an adult”said Chris Hosey, director of the Georgia State Bureau of Investigation, promising a court appearance “within a reasonable time”.
