In Paris, a large-scale social movement is planned for this Thursday in the after-school sector

The three unions in the sector are calling for “a massive strike” on Thursday, September 5. They are demanding changes to professional categories and an increase in certain bonuses.

As the start of the school year is in full swing, demands are being announced in the after-school sector. The unions Supap-FSU, CFDT and CGT have jointly called for a strike movement «massif» in Paris, this Thursday, September 5, from 11:25 a.m. to 12:25 p.m., their press release indicates. A general meeting is also planned for Monday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at the Bourse du Travail, in the 10e district of the capital.

In detail, the inter-union wants a reclassification in category 1 of extracurricular directors (REV), an increase in the IFSE bonus (compensation for functions, constraints and expertise) and a bonus for the priority education network (REP/REP+) for the facilitators.

Multiple requests

In addition, the inter-union wants to obtain a “schedule of negotiations with the City” for other requests like, “the establishment and/or contractualization of temporary workers in permanent positions, access to category A for educational assistants of Co actions and access to category B for AAAS (assistant for animation and sports action editor’s note) and ASEM (editor’s note: specialized nursery school agents) or even additional qualifying training for extracurricular professions.”

For the year 2023-2024, the unions in the sector had won their case during initial demands and other large-scale mobilizations. In particular, the recruitment of 700 permanent AAS by 2026, 250 AAS contracts for this school year, 80 category A positions for physical and sports activity advisors for animation (CAPSA). As well as bonuses for educational action staff or an increase in the REV S bonus. They also obtained the creation of thirty qualifying training courses for the Professional Certificate of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (BJEPS) and the State Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DJEPS).

The inter-union therefore wishes to renew what it considers to be a success achieved with its previous mobilizations. “We demand a fair valuation of our professions and decent working conditions”the press release underlines.
