All 72 Grenfell Tower deaths could have been avoided

Seven years after the Grenfell Tower fire in London, the public inquiry has just published its final report. Seventy-two people died in the accident, already described as “ avoidable ” by a previous report: the cladding of the building, where mainly disadvantaged people lived, did not comply with current standards.

The victims’ association is now demanding justice, but the police are warning that the judicial investigation is not expected to be completed until next year, and the first prosecutions will have to wait until 2026 – ten years after the fire.
