New Russian bombings hit Lviv, the large city in western Ukraine, on Wednesday, September 4, regional governor Maksym Kozytskii announced. After an initial toll of two dead and 23 injured, the authorities announced that at least seven people were killed, including three children.
Two of the injured were children and several residential buildings were hit by the strikes, Maksym Kozytskyi said on Telegram.
Among the dead were a 50-year-old nurse and a man who has not yet been identified, the city’s mayor Andriy Sadovy said.
5 injured in Kryvyi Rig
Lviv, located more than 1,000 km from the front, has so far been relatively spared from the war. However, the region’s energy infrastructure has been damaged several times and the city has been the target of deadly drone and missile strikes several times.
Meanwhile, Russian attacks injured at least five people overnight in Kryvyi Rig, in central Ukraine, regional governor Sergii Lysak said on Telegram.
On Tuesday, a Russian missile strike on the city of Poltava in central Ukraine left at least 51 dead and 271 injured. It was one of the deadliest since the start of the conflict.
