CPC changes name, separates from Bozizé and defines new objectives

In the Central African Republic, the main rebel coalition, the CPC, is now called the CPC-F: the Coalition for Fundamental Change. Since late July, tensions between the various leaders have increased and at a meeting last Friday, the leaders decided to do without the former president, François Bozizé, and to redefine their objectives.

Sidelined since his departure for the Guinea-Bissau, François Bozizéwho was coordinator of the CPC, is clearly paying for his decision to relieve General Ali Darassa of his duties as chief of staff at the beginning of August.

Aboubacar Sidick Ali is the general spokesperson of the Coalition. He is in exile, he is resting so we leave him in his rest so that we cannot disturb him and now, we have seen the limit that he has reached so it is no longer worth continuing with him ” explains the spokesperson.

The new office restored General Ali Darassa to his position as chief of staff. In a statement at the end of July, he called for an end to all hostilities with the army and for talks with the authorities.
