The army is cordoning off the area and its troops have been reinforced around the prison, reports our correspondent in Kinshasa, Pascal Mulegwa. Inside, electricity was restored early yesterday afternoon. A backup generator has been deployed.

The first food deliveries also took place yesterday, while the detainees have been without food since Sunday evening, because the kitchen and the food depot were affected by the fire.
