Marchand’s response to Musk: the mayor of Quebec “puts on a show”, according to Claude Villeneuve

By responding to billionaire Elon Musk, the mayor of Quebec, Bruno Marchand, “made a spectacle of himself,” lamented the leader of the municipal opposition Claude Villeneuve.

This is how the leader of Quebec First reacted, Wednesday morning, to Mayor Marchand’s peace sign launched in response to the possible Nazi salute of the wealthy businessman and politician close to Donald Trump.

“Elon Musk, the entire planet is ready to respond to him. There is no one waiting after Bruno Marchand to respond to Elon Musk […] It’s a way of putting on a show,” lamented Mr. Villeneuve.

The mayor of Quebec “is trying to place himself immediately in the political debate, at the highest level. I don’t want my mayor to answer to Elon Musk. I want my mayor to speak to congressmen. I want my mayor to go to Philadelphia. I want my mayor, like Régis Labeaume did, to be present in the activities [de l’Alliance des villes] of the Great Lakes,” he said.
