The New York Stock Exchange opened higher on Wednesday, driven by the progression of stocks linked to artificial intelligence.
In early trading, the Dow Jones index gained 116.77 points, or 0.27% to 44,142.58 points and the broader Standard & Poor’s 500 rose 0.52% to 6,080.91 points. The Nasdaq Composite takes 0.95% or 187.70 points, to 19,944.481.
Donald Trump, inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States of America on Monday, announced on Tuesday a private investment plan of at least $500 billion in infrastructure for artificial intelligence led by three major groups including Oracle (+6 .1%).
Securities linked to the field therefore showed an increase on Wednesday, pulling up the indices: Arm took 8.06%, Microsoft 2%, Nvidia 3.32%, and Palantir 2.04%.
Server specialists Dell and Supermicro climbed 6.30% and 4.16% respectively.
-The markets are also driven by companies that surprised positively in their fourth quarter or reported better results than expected.
Netflix, for example, takes 13% after gaining more subscribers than expected in the last quarter of 2024.
