Stations: an entity

#SNCF – A regional directorate for Occitanie stations of SNCF Gares & Connexions has just been created. Its headquarters is based in and nearly 300 employees have worked throughout the region since January 1, 2025. Hilaire Hautem, former deputy territorial director at SNCF Réseau Occitanie, is taking charge of this entity. SNCF Gares & Connexions is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance and development of the 292 stations and passenger rail stops in Occitanie.

#NIMES – According to Capital, which relies on figures from Fnaim and trends from the Clameur Observatory, the sale price in Nîmes amounts to 2,278 euros per square meter on January 1, 2025. Over three months, a drop of 3.4% was observed and over one year of 4.5%. The selling price of a house is 2,871 euros per square meter compared to 2,003 euros per square meter for an apartment. For rentals, over the last four quarters, the median rent, all areas combined, in Nîmes reached 12 euros per square meter for an apartment.

Juliette Trey, first woman at the head of the Fabre museum

#MONTPELLIER – In May 2025, Michel Hilaire will end his lease at the head of the Fabre museum in Montpellier, he who has been its curator since 1992. This Monday, January 20, 2025, the Métropole de Montpellier unveiled the one who will take over. This is Juliette Trey who becomes the first woman to direct the Fabre museum since its opening to the public in 1828. “General curator of heritage, she will take charge of the Fabre museum in Montpellier in May 2025”explains the Metropolis. Her career took her to the national museum of the Châteaux of and Trianon to the National Institute of History, via the graphic arts of the Louvre Museum.

100% French paracetamol: the State in support

# The 100% French paracetamol factory Ipsophène, which is due to open in 2025 in Toulouse, will receive state aid. Indeed, Isophène is one of the seven projects supported by 2030 for the relocation of the production of essential medicines. Out of its overall project estimated at 28 million euros, the Toulouse company will receive 3.6 million euros from the State. Isophène had already benefited from 4.2 million euros from the Occitanie Region. With an announced production of 3,400 tonnes, the factory should be able to meet 40% of French paracetamol consumption. The Isophène company plans to market its drug in 2026 on its site which will be installed in a disused ArianeGroup building, on the island of Empalot, south of the Toulouse ring road. Paracetamol will be produced using eco-responsible technology patented by Ipsomedic which optimizes the synthesis of paracetamol by reducing waste and energy consumption.

The thriller of the ex-robber

#HERAULT – In 2023, Michel Ucciani published Corsica, in prisonhis first book about his life in jail. Today, the ex-robber, based in Mèze for several years, is releasing his first thriller, On the paths of bad life (editions of Cursinu). “My experience of prison and robberies was useful for the first pages but the rest of the story takes place elsewhere and on other themes”explains Michel Ucciani. Throughout these approximately 230 pages, we follow the adventures of Corsican Ange Colonna (he has the same last name as Yvan, a great friend of Michel Ucciani) who meets, in prison, a godfather of the Cosa Nostra . The author already admits to working on a sequel.
