“Everyone was hallucinating. If I hadn't been there, I wouldn't have believed it. » Benoît, a resident of Coulounieix-Chamiers, in Dordogne, claims to have found a human tooth in the brioche galette des Rois, purchased on Tuesday January 14 and shared with family. The business manager denies this.
That day, Benoît's mother returned with a crown from the Firmin bakery in Coulounieix-Chamiers for dinner. But the meal did not end as planned, according to him: “I had almost finished my piece when my mother fell on her tooth. We kept it. For me, it was baked in the dough. »
When Benoît opens up to his colleagues, one of them also reports a problem with this same bakery. “On January 7, I bit into a marinated chicken/mayo sandwich and came face to face with a worm. I didn’t dare look inside, everything went in the trash,” says Cyril.

The latter then decides to recount these two episodes on Facebook, with supporting photos. His message caused quite a stir. The two Colomniérois also claim to have passed the information on to the store. One of them would have alerted the relevant services. “I'm not doing it to get anything back but it's unbelievable and unacceptable. What we want is for it not to happen again. » Both more or less regular customers of this bakery, they had not experienced any problems until then.
The manager of the Firmin store in Chamiers (1) strongly disputes these allegations. Alerted to the publication on social networks, he ensures that he checked with his team, who manufactures the cakes on site, and that none of his employees would have reported such an incident. “We have nothing to reproach ourselves for,” he assures us. We are not going to call them liars but we are not going to let ourselves be accused either. I've been doing this job for years and we've never had feedback like this. »
He also refutes any hygiene problem: “The store was inspected in 2022 and services can return in 2025”. How then can we explain the supposed presence of this tooth? Could it have been in the flour used? ” Impossible. As soon as we put it in trouble, the tooth would have broken,” says the manager.
(1) Like the other two protagonists, he did not want his identity to be published.
