The Swedish arms and aeronautics group Saab recorded stronger than expected growth in its turnover thanks to the better than expected completion of its projects at the end of the year, it announced on Friday.

(Keystone-ATS) Turnover reached 63.8 billion Swedish crowns (5.2 billion francs) last year, organic growth of 23.4% better than previously forecast (top of the range of +15% to + 20%), he said in a press release.
This increase results from “a greater than expected increase in sales due to the exceptional execution of projects in the fourth quarter”, specifies the group.
-This announcement briefly caused the stock to jump by around 3%, before falling again. It lost 0.90% to 233.85 crowns at 12:50 local time (11:50 GMT) while the OMX 30 index of the Stockholm Stock Exchange gained 1.60%.
For the fourth quarter alone, Saab indicates that operating profit is expected at 2 billion crowns, compared to 1.4 billion a year earlier.
Saab has been buoyed for several quarters by the rearmament caused by the war in Ukraine and Sweden’s accession to NATO.
These estimates are published ahead of the annual results which will be made public on February 7.
