Limited autonomy is a blocking point for 43%, the percentage being significantly higher among French speakers (51%) than among Dutch speakers (37 %). The lack of charging stations (40%) completes the top three reasons not to opt for an electric car at the moment.
Why will plug-in hybrid cars consume much more in 2025?
The high cost may be one reason why four in ten investors think the government should provide a bonus to the buyer of an electric car. Curiously, in Flanders, where such a bonus existed until recently, only 35% are in favor of it, while 47% of French speakers think that such a bonus is a good idea. The question is whether this will still be necessary in the future, because 40% believe that the prices of electric vehicles will fall in the next five years. A third of investors expect prices to rise.
-Despite this skepticism, a relative majority of investors are convinced that electric cars are the future. Thus, 41% of those surveyed agree with the statement that car manufacturers who do not make the switch to electric vehicles will disappear. About a quarter of them disagree.
