The Quebec government seems to be keen on the Charlevoix Train

Not everything is decided for the Charlevoix Train. The next chapter will be written tomorrow with the government of Quebec as the author.

Le Charlevoisien has learned from several sources that a meeting will take place on Friday. She was convened by the Secrétariat de la Capitale-Nationale.

Representatives from Tourisme Québec and the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility would participate in the online meeting, as would several speakers from Charlevoix.

Canada Economic Development was also invited to the meeting.

We felt since the famous meeting of December 20, the day when Réseau Charlevoix announced, in the absence of a financial agreement with Baie-Saint-Paul, La Malbaie, the MRCs of Charlevoix and Charlevoix-Est and Tourisme Charlevoix, that another plan was being developed to try to put the train back on the rails.

No information on how tickets already sold will be refunded has been released. Last I heard, no one has seen the trains “for sale”.

Charlevoix Railway, through its president, confirmed at the beginning of the week that the railway would never be dismantled and that “lots of projects” were possible, said David Blair without naming them. The relaunch of the Charlevoix Train was undoubtedly one of them.
