Montreal among the 50 best cities in the world in 2025

The City of Montreal has been ranked among the 50 best cities in the world to visit in 2025.

According to an annual ranking of the best cities in the world published by Time Out , Montreal is among the 44e out of a total of 50.

The magazine determined its ranking by surveying more than 18,500 citizens, as well as its panel of 100 experts, on the city’s food, nightlife, culture, accessibility, quality of life and general ambiance in question.

Montreal stands out in particular for its new luxury shopping center, the Royalmount, its “exhilarating year-round festival circuit”, its “renovated” and “award-winning” hotels, as well as its “exceptional culinary scene”, we can read on Time Out.

While many Montrealers complain about the presence of orange construction cones, this city is “one of the most breathtaking in the world, especially when you admire the view from the mountain in the heart of the city,” illustrated the magazine.

According to data from a survey of Montrealers, 85% of them described the cultural scene as “good” or “extraordinary”. On the other hand, 70% of participants indicated that arts or cultural visits were inexpensive or even free. Finally, 88% of Montrealers praised the city’s culinary scene.

The best city in the world

The city of Cape Town, South Africa, has won the title of the best city in the world to visit in 2025.

This city stands out not only for its “amazing” view from the top of one of the 7 wonders of nature, its “eclectic ambiance”, its beaches and its gastronomy.

According to a survey, 95% of Cape Town residents approved of the city’s food and 82% described the city as beautiful.

The second best city in the world

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, won the second position in this ranking.

Nicknamed the “land of smiles,” it stands out for its warm welcome, “intricately designed” temples, rich culture and food scene.

The food was rated as “good” or “amazing” by 86% of residents in the Thai capital and 84% noted the affordability of meals at restaurants.
