Donald Trump will participate online at the Davos Forum, Zelensky on site

The American president will hold a dialogue on Thursday January 23 by videoconference at the World Economic Forum. Neither Emmanuel Macron nor the Minister of the Economy Éric Lombard have planned to go there.

Donald Trump, three days after his swearing in, will speak next week, Thursday January 23, by videoconference during the 55th edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Like last year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be present in the Alpine resort, when there is more talk than ever of negotiations. Russian officials have been banned from the Davos Forum since the invasion of Ukraine almost three years ago.

Emmanuel Macron, present last year, chose not to go to the Forum this time. Like every year, last Friday at the Élysée, he invited bosses who are going to Switzerland, asking them to assure their interlocutors from around the world that is maintaining the course of attractiveness.

For his part, unlike Bruno Le Maire who was a regular visitor, Éric Lombard, the boss of Bercy, will not make the trip to the Grisons massif. His entourage makes it clear that budgetary discussions will keep him busy and that appearing with billionaires in what is seen in France as the temple of capitalism and globalization would be poorly received by the left, which he is trying to keep in a pact. of non-censorship.
