The town of Olemps is fortunate to have two theater groups on its territory, both headed by the Association Familles Rurales: OlempScène, which will perform on February 8 and 9 at the 777 and the 5 Jasmins whose latest creation will be presented on June 7. Two troupes who shared a common project, opening the theater to children. This is practically a done deal with the arrival in the game of Alexandre Lisant, ready to take up the challenge and lead workshops on Wednesday mornings.
Alexandre started theater at age 11 with Olivier Royer and continued until high school. In 2010 he had the chance to participate in the collective creation “urgency of young speech” set up by Sébastien Bournac, then in artist residency at the MJC in Rodez. The future director of the Sorano theater in Toulouse (he was for 9 years, until last December) brought together a group of a dozen teenagers whose words he collected, whom he introduced to theatrical work before creating and stage a show presented to the public. After high school Alexandre “went to Toulouse” and it was the Théâtre du Grand Rond which opened its doors to him, then the conservatory, directly in the 2nd year. He completed his second cycle there before changing course when he understood that he did not want to be a professional actor. His professional choice is to be an educator specializing in child protection. A job “which allows us to put theater at the service of education”. He sets up workshops or theater activities wherever he goes, such as in Mayotte where he lived for 3 years.
On his return in 2022 he participates in the adventure of Les Misérables, directed by Fabien Austruy.
His wish now is “be in transmission because theater is the school of life”. It offers local children the opportunity to discover their art and gain self-confidence, free of charge since only membership to the AFR (€26) is required.
The workshops will begin on February 5 in the AFR room, under the crèche. Two groups will be set up: from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning for 7/9 year olds and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for 10/12 year olds.
A meeting with the children and their parents is planned for Friday January 24 at 6 p.m., room 777. Info and reservation 06 76 08 47 83.
