« Acting together to shape tomorrow is our course of action, explains Nathalie Barré Liotard, employee of the Parallèle association. This helps us carry out our projects and has reinforced our idea that opening the Recyclerie Parallèle in the city center of Saint-Jean-d’Angély would be an asset, despite the lack of financial means and the lack of support. . »
The people of Anger played the game and participated in this social bond created by the recycling activity. The association is also looking for additional premises to expand its proposals, “this could be in one of these so many stores in the city center sadly closed, we are launching an appeal to the owners”, continues Nathalie Barré Liotard.
Volunteers welcome
The association welcomed the first young people in very precarious situations, aged 16 to 25, as part of the Tapaj France system (alternative work paid by the day). They were able to be paid thanks to the sales of the confections made by the Knitting and Sewing Club of the municipal media library of Saint-Jean-d’Angély. Other young people will be welcomed next February. Parallèle has also received interns from vocational high schools, students in difficulty who can thus regain motivation and confidence.
“We have continued our Repair Cafés, the second Saturday of each month”
Parallèle also participates in the SGAR Nouvelle-Aquitaine (General Secretariat for Regional Affairs) project, the objective of which is to make essential goods accessible to people in very precarious situations within recycling. This experimental device works using vouchers for equipment. An operation carried out in connection with Tremplin 17.
Nathalie Barré Liotard adds: “We have continued our repair cafés, the second Saturday of each month, in partnership with the Cyclad joint union. And in 2025 we will continue the free recup’art workshops, once or twice a month, such as the one on crochet, tips for cooking without waste, while reusing materials intended for the landfill. »
A meeting place where new friendships were born. Volunteers are welcome.
