We were fully expecting it at the start of 2025, it is now a done deal, the restyled Tesla Model Y has appeared. We could have expected a presentation with great fanfare, but no, Tesla simply announced the marketing of this new model in China, before its arrival in the United States and Europe in the coming weeks.

For the moment, the now “old” version is still configurable on the brand’s website in , but this new version should quickly replace it. In China, the first deliveries are expected next March, we will probably have to wait until the end of spring 2025 in Europewhile the Berlin Gigafactory, where European Model Ys are produced, is updated.

The new Tesla Model Y in a few words

We have already offered you an article concerning the main novelties of this new Model Y. In broad terms, it takes up the aesthetic codes of the “new” productions of the brand, with a front which is reminiscent of the Cybertruck and the robotaxi Cybercab. The lighting signature also changes at the rear with a wide strip reminiscent of the Porsche Macan.

Not very practical, but solutions exist to overcome this concern for ergonomics, which we tend to appreciate on a Ferrari which is only used very rarely, a little less on a Model Y which we drive every day.

A simple and practical detail

But there’s one thing Ferraris don’t have, it’s a front trunk with… a hole for draining ! Not the oil change obviously, the Model Y being a 100% electric vehicle, but the oil change if you ever want to wash your frunk with a water jet.

Very practical, especially if you have stored shoes full of mud, since the front trunk of the Tesla is made of plastic, and therefore much more easily washable than the felt of the rear trunk.

As one social media user Because why not!
