First look at the restyled Mercedes C-Class

The Mercedes C-Class is one of the most important models of the German manufacturer. The new generation debuted in 2021 and will definitely get a major update in the near future.

This restyling could arrive in 2026 (although the presentation could take place as early as the end of 2025) and bring with it several new features both in terms of style and equipment, as well as some new engines.

New “eyes” to the star

To imagine what the “new” C-Class will look like, we can take a look at our rendering, which is based on recent observations of the first prototypes.

The restyled Mercedes C-Class of 2026, this is what it could look like

Mercedes is known for its conservative approach to restyling and it is likely that the new C-Class will not be overhauled too much. The main changes will be at the front, with headlights that could adopt a new star-shaped light signature, similar to that of the new CLA. In addition, the grille could be stylized like that of the E-Class, with black surrounds and chrome strips.

At the rear, the changes will be less visible and will probably be limited to a new graphic for the headlight clusters and some modifications to the bumper.

As for the interior, Mercedes may introduce new upholstery materials and modify the dashboard, especially the infotainment system.

The engine range

As for the engines, we believe that the facelifted C-Class will confirm most of the current powertrains, while improving efficiency. The mild hybrid petrol and diesel engines, with a power ranging from 204 hp to 408 hp for the C 43 AMG, are therefore in the process of being confirmed.

The four-cylinder engine of the current Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE Performance, which has been the subject of much controversy.

We expect further development of the petrol and diesel plug-in hybrid variants, with electric ranges greater than 130-150 km. As for the plug-ins, it remains to be seen whether Mercedes will confirm the C 63 AMG with the 2.0 turbo four-cylinder and an electric motor for 680 hp. Although capable of exceptional performance, this version has not convinced all enthusiasts, which is why a switch to a six-cylinder cannot be completely ruled out.
