motorists stranded after fuel error in supermarket tanks

“The repairman came and said right away that it was a fuel mistake,” reported a victim.

Like the engine of Dupont and Dupond in “Tintin in the Land of Black GoldGilles's broke down after refueling. He wanted to fill his tank with unleaded-95E10 at the Intermarché service station in Jayat, in Ain, on December 31, reports Progress . But his car broke down a few kilometers away. The cause is a fuel error in the tanks which then water motorists. “I went there to put some gas but, fortunately, I didn’t fill up”rejoiced, yellow, Gilles to our colleagues.

No communication

His vehicle, which broke down, has been parked in his garage ever since. He complained to Intermarché, who asked him for proof of payment, and took his contact details. “Intermarché is bringing in an expert to analyze the tanks not before Monday!!!!! In the meantime, the cars are broken down, no communication from management.complains a victim on social networks who pleads for “the centralization of all cases and their defense by a collective”.

“I was told to check with my insurance. But the insurance company tells me that it can only turn against the fuel supplier. I tried to meet with store management, but was told it wasn't possible.”regrets Gilles in the columns of Le Progrès. Another victim, Marie, “almost stood in the middle of a roundabout”. “I parked, the car was smoking. I contacted my insurance, the repairman came and said straight away that it was a fuel error”. She assures that she has not received any information from Intermarché. Unleaded-95E10 was unavailable this Friday, according to Le Progrès.
