The Évreux Portes de Normandie agglomeration is preparing to sell the BioNormandie Parc nursery, in Miserey (Eure).
Inaugurated in 2009 with great communication, the office and laboratory space quickly found itself in deficit. “It never figured out how it worked. There is currently only one tenant [OncoDiag, N.D.L.R.] and it costs us dearly,” confirmed its president, Guy Lefrand, Tuesday evening during the last community council of the year.
80 jobs announced over four years
A great opportunity presents itself to EPN: the nursery’s close neighbor, the pharmacy research laboratory Charles River needs space to absorb the growth of its activity.
The Miserey site of the American group (one of six established in France) expressed to EPN its interest in the building of nearly 2,000 m2 (on a plot of 5,200 m2) which should allow it to recruit 80 people over four years.
“It saves 466 jobs and offers 80 additional jobs,” insists Guy Lefrand. If it couldn't expand, Charles River left and we were in competition with Scotland. » With the agreement of the new owner, the company OncoDiag will be able to continue to occupy the 60 m2 current.
Secure access
With this sale (€1.55 million excluding tax), EPN gets rid of equipment that never managed to take off and in chronic deficitwhile making it possible to maintain a solid activity on site.
“It is an essential economic player in our territory and for the population of Miserey,” rejoices its mayor, Hervé Gilles. The councilor does not forget that the company is also a major player in obtaining, from the State, secure access to the Pacy road from the RN13.
