BCP renews its ISO 50001 certification for its Energy Management system

For more than eight years, the BCP stands out as a leader in rational energy management. The adoption in 2016 of a Energy Management System (EMS) conforms to the ISO 50001 standard marked an important milestone. In 2023, the revision of its energy policy to integrate the 2018 version made it possible to strengthen its eco-responsible practices and to align its objectives with the most advanced standards.

Concrete and measurable results

Thanks to the implementation of its EMS, BCP managed to reduce its electricity bill by 17%. Several initiatives have contributed to this impact, including:

  • Lighting upgrade : replacement of traditional systems with energy-efficient LED solutions.
  • Optimization of energy management : deployment of intelligent systems to monitor and reduce consumption.
  • Renovation of energy-intensive infrastructure : adoption of innovative technologies such as energy recovery and systems « Inverter ».
  • Improvement of Data Centers : implementation of efficient and adapted cooling solutions.
  • Promotion of renewable energies : use of solar thermal and photovoltaic energy to produce clean energy.

These efforts made it possible to achieve a energy gain estimated at 104 million dirhams since 2016, while supporting Morocco's environmental objectives and international standards in this area.

ISO 50001 version 2018 certification confirms BCP's desire to continue and expand its energy efficiency initiatives. In 2024, the Bank plans to extend its EMS to new sites, thus consolidating its energy strategy and its environmental commitment.
