Fiat Doblo, an Algerian car with 98% Moroccan components

Assembled on Algerian soil, Fiat includes spare parts marked “Made in Morocco”. A car celebrated by the Algerian authorities who consider it an unprecedented achievement.

The Fiat Doblo is experiencing strong demand, which displeases the Algerian authorities who have imposed new conditions on Algerians, Algerian media report. Enough to annoy the Algerian activist and journalist Walid Kabir. “They think they are the guardians of Morocco! First manufacture a single part, and then force the Italians not to import spare parts from Morocco, because the spare parts of the DOBLO car which will be assembled in Algeria will come entirely from Morocco,” he commented on X. He describes the regime as the “demon of North Africa”.

Kabir did not fail to highlight the exploits of the Moroccan automobile industry. “Morocco produces more than 700,000 cars per year and exports them to more than 70 countries around the world. In addition, the automotive industry ecosystem in Morocco includes 250 factories and employs nearly a quarter of a million workers,” he said. And added: “Morocco is considered the first country in Africa in the automobile industry, and the third in the world in terms of competitiveness after India and China in this sector.”
