Morocco is increasingly asserting itself as a commercial and port power, attracting the attention of Spanish freight forwarders. According to the specialized media “ The Mercantile“, several Spanish companies have recently opened offices and delegations in Morocco, seeking to capture flows in a territory that positions itself as a strategic hub for global trade and logistics.
This dynamic is favored by near-shoring and the current geopolitical context, which make Morocco particularly attractive for international logistics operators, particularly Spanish ones. The port of Tanger Med illustrates this rise in power: the largest port in Africa, it is now among the top 20 container ports in the world. In 2023, Tanger Med exceeded eight million TEU containers, ranking 19th in the world.
The Tanger Med free zone welcomes more than 200 multinationals in the automotive sector, not including the textile and aeronautics industries, with more than 1,300 companies established. Furthermore, the Nador West Med complex, under development according to parameters similar to those of Tanger Med, aims to complement the latter in capturing transshipment. And of course agriculture also benefits from the growth and dynamics.

This development demonstrates Morocco's successful strategy to strengthen its port and logistics infrastructure, thus consolidating its position on the international trade scene.
