You have until February 14 to take advantage of these two grants (then they disappear for good)

For many French people, financial aid plays a crucial role when it comes to investing in a system. They make it possible to considerably reduce the bill, thus making the investment more accessible. This aid can be decisive, especially for households on a tight budget, because it limits financial risks and also allows you to take the plunge. Without this support, many hesitate to invest, for fear of not being able to recoup their expenses or of finding themselves in difficulty.

In recent years, you have undoubtedly heard about it, the State has put in place two aids for equipping yourself: the ecological bonus and the vehicle conversion bonus. The bonus is aimed at low-income households who want to buy either a new or used electrically assisted bicycle, a classic bicycle, or an electric bicycle adapted to a handicap situation. The amount of this aid varies depending on the applicant's situation. In principle, it amounts to 40% of the purchase cost. For example, for an ordinary bicycle, the aid is 150 euros maximum; for an electric model, 400 euros maximum; for a traditional bicycle adapted to a cyclist with a disability, 2,000 euros maximum.

As for the conversion bonus, which supplements the ecological bonus and includes cycles, it is paid under conditions to users who part with old vehicles to partly finance a bicycle with or without assistance. Its amount can reach up to 3,000 euros depending on the model chosen and the individual's situation, which is not insignificant. Except that these two aids will soon be part of the past. Decree No. 2024-1084 of November 29, 2024 actually recorded the elimination of this financial aid from December 2, 2024. If you ordered a cycle before this date, a tolerance is granted until February 14, 2025. you therefore have a few weeks left to claim your ecological bonus and the conversion bonus on the condition that the “invoicing, or that the payment of the first rent in the case of rental, takes place no later than February 14, 2025 inclusive”, indicates the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

If you are concerned, please note that the request for these two aids must be made online on the dedicated site: primealaconversion.gouv.fr. For your file to be examined, it must include certain supporting documents such as a copy of the transfer certificate or rental contract for the cycle, valid proof of identity, the latest income tax notice, proof of address or further proof of disability, etc. After February 14, 2025, these two devices will therefore disappear.
