The cancellation of his flight cost him dearly. A resident of Nice who absolutely had to go to Geneva on the morning of June 27 paid no less than 1,246.19 euros to travel to the Swiss city. While his flight from Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) was canceled on the evening of June 26, he found no other solution than to order an Uber to get to Geneva.
With his Uber Van trip of more than 500 km, he won the prize for the most expensive trip of the year on the VTC application. “The trip went well, it was about six hours on the road, with breaks from time to time so we could stretch our legs,” says driver Amine.
“The passenger was very nice and offered to help me find a hotel, but I preferred to go to Annecy to sleep there, before going back down to Nice the next day,” continues the driver, who will remember long journey.
As the year comes to an end, Uber took the opportunity to do its retrospective of the year and communicate some records like that of Amine and this man from Nice. The shortest journey took place around three weeks later, not far from the starting point of Amine’s journey since it took place in Saint-Tropez (Var). She is a Spanish tourist who made a 420 m journey out of the club at 3:30 a.m. on July 19, to go from Caves du Roy to Avenue Paul Roussel. A record narrowly stolen from a French passenger who made a 501 m journey in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, from the prestigious Henry de Montherlant tennis courts.
But the most notable record of this year 2024 on French territory for the world leader in VTC is undoubtedly that of the number of different nationalities who have taken a trip on Uber. Thanks to the Olympics, no less than 176 different nationalities have ordered an Uber, almost double compared to 2023.
Land of records, the Côte d’Azur once again stands out with the prize for the best tip given to a driver by a French passenger. During his Uber Comfort trip for a total amount of 134 euros between Cannes and Vallauris on September 25, he paid a tip of 106 euros to his driver.
Uber can be satisfied with having customers like Damien, its most loyal customer whom it would particularly like to thank for having ordered no less than 852 trips during the year, which makes him the most active passenger in the Hexagon. Stéphane, for his part, hasn’t really spared himself at work this year since he is the driver who has made the most trips in 2024, with 7,332 trips.
