The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed lower on Wednesday, its main index, the MASI, falling 0.04% to 14,769.95 points (pts).
The MASI 20, an index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, lost 0.12% to 1,196.07 pts and the MASI ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, decreased by 0.1%. at 1,045.62 pts.
Counter-trend, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, increased by 0.55% to 1,502.71 pts.
At the international level, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid indices ended with respective losses of 0.47% at 13,772 pts and 0.14% at 12,412.86 pts.
On a sectoral level, the “Distributors” (-1.48%), “Transport Services” (-1.31%) and “Electricity” (-0.79%) indices recorded the most sharp declines. In contrast, the “Agricultural industry” sector (+9.98%) posted the strongest increase, ahead of “Beverages” (+2.23%) and “Engineering and industrial capital goods” (+ 2.49%).
Trade reached more than 174.46 million dirhams (MDH), carried out mainly on the central “Shares” market and dominated by transactions on CMGP Group (62.56 MDH), Taqa Morocco (8 MDH) and Attijariwafa Bank ( 7.7 MDH).
The market capitalization exceeded 755.76 billion dirhams (MMDH).
At individual values, the biggest declines were recorded by Rebab Company (-2.35% to 102 DH), Disway (-2.27% to 641 DH), Salafin (-1.93% to 558 DH), Minière Touissit (-1.83% to 1,605 DH) and Crédit du Maroc (-1.81% to 962.2 DH). Conversely, CMGP Group signed, for a new session, the best performance with an increase of 9.98% to 266.05 DH, ahead of Zellidja SA (+6% to 91.17 DH), M2M Group (+ 5.54% to 548.90 DH), Stroc Industrie (+4.65% to 44.98 DH) and Involys (+3.09% to 98.97 DH).
