Uber published this Tuesday, December 18, the list of records relating to journeys achieved by its drivers in 2024. Several surprising figures concern the coast of South-East of France.
Longest race, shortest… The VTC platform Uber published on Tuesday December 17 the list of records recorded in 2024 on its application, and it has some surprises in store.
The record for the longest journey goes to a connection costing 1,246.19 euros between Nice airport and Geneva, carried out on June 26, 2024. It was “a Nice resident who absolutely had to be in Geneva on June 27 in the morning” and who called on the platform “after the cancellation of his flight, the last of the day”, specifies Uber.
“The journey went well, it was about six hours on the road, with breaks from time to time so that we could stretch our legs. The passenger was very nice and offered me a ride help me find a hotel, but I preferred to go to Annecy to sleep there, before going back down to Nice the next day,” explains Amine, the driver, quoted in the Uber press release.
420 meters from a nightclub in Saint-Tropez
In contrast to this XXL race, the platform announces that its shortest race of the year covered 420 short meters in the Var. An order coming from a Spanish tourist who used the platform at 3:30 a.m. in Saint-Tropez to go from the Caves du Roy nightclub to Avenue Paul Roussel.
“Also note that a French passenger made a journey of 501 meters in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The starting point: the prestigious Henry de Monterlant tennis courts,” explains Uber.
Furthermore, the largest tip in 2024 was 106 euros, given by a French passenger during a trip costing 134 euros in total between Cannes and Vallauris on September 25.
