Bank of Africa (BOA) has been recognized with two new awards at the Global Frontier Brand Awards 2024, highlighting its pioneering role in promoting sustainability in the financial sector, namely “Excellence in Strategic Sustainability Leadership – Africa, 2024” and “Outstanding Sustainability Leader in Financial Services – Morocco, 2024”.
According to a press release, a copy of which reached us at lareleve.ma, these distinctions, awarded following a rigorous evaluation process, illustrate BOA’s constant commitment to sustainable development and its ability to carry out strategic initiatives with a lasting environmental and social impact, indicates a press release from the group.
“Under the aegis of its President Othman Benjelloun, Bank of Africa has established itself for almost two decades as a key player in financing and impact initiatives. In 2000, the Group became the first African signatory to the United Nations Environment Program Financial Initiative (UNEP FI), thus marking a key step in its commitment to sustainable finance,” underlines the same source.
Since 2015, BOA has developed an innovative range of financial products to support its clients in key areas such as energy efficiency, water resources management and the circular economy. The group has also integrated environmental, social and, more recently, climate risks into the management of its portfolio.
The BOA group is distinguished by numerous achievements, in particular thanks to the actions of the BMCE Bank Foundation for Education and the Environment, as well as obtaining ISO certifications for its Environmental and Energy Management System, a unique initiative in the Moroccan banking sector.
Created in 2015, Boston Brand Research & Media is recognized worldwide for its role in highlighting brands of excellence. It collaborates with prestigious institutions such as Harvard, MIT and Boston University, helping to set new benchmarks in business performance recognition.
