Focusing on the main French cities, the two entities took into account the following four criteria: the number of permanent contracts per 100 residentsthe net median salarythe real estate purchasing power and the price per square meter. The results give each municipality an evaluation, which then allows a ranking to be created.
Simply put, the higher the final score, the more attractive the city is to job seekers looking to purchase property.
The Paca region at the bottom of the ranking
Behind Paris, we see in fact that Nice comes 30th out of 31, with a score of 87. Be careful, the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes is not the only one to be among the least attractive. In Bouches-du-Rhône Marseille only obtains 103 points, and in the Var, Toulon 152 points.
For comparison, the most interesting city is Mulhouse in the Haut-Rhin. It particularly benefits from a booming job market, with 9 permanent contracts per 100 inhabitants. The real estate purchasing power is also detrimental for these cities, especially for Nice (28 square meters, 3rd lowest in the country) and Marseille (35 square meters, 7th).
Toulon remains the best compromise in the Paca region
Despite salaries being among the highest in France (2nd after Paris), Toulon pays a high price for its low rate of permanent workers. However, she is the most interesting city in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur about the surface area granted for an average income (48 square meters).
