A boss disappears with 1.8 million euros after defrauding his clients and betraying his employees

In Fréjus (), a company specializing in the sale of used cars is at the heart of a scandal. The manager abruptly closed the doors of his company on November 22, 2024, leaving customers and employees without answers. More than 1.8 million euros would have disappeared, according to initial estimates. Around ten complaints were filed and an investigation was opened, notes Var-Morning .

One of the victims said they entrusted their vehicle to the company in October 2024 so that it could handle the sale. Her husband learned some time later that the vehicle had found a buyer, but the payment promised within ten days never arrived. And she is far from being the only one in this situation.

On the run and insolvent

According to lawyer Muriel Gestas, representing around twenty victims, the boss increased the “stratagems to save time, increase your portfolio and organize your insolvency. » Maître Gaetan Aglieri, who defends around fifteen victims, confirmed that the boss “had a well-established operating procedure by selling the same vehicle to two different customers”. The employees have not been paid for several months.

Furthermore, the company, financed by leasing, actually belongs to the bank, as the lawyer explains. The latter calls for criminal seizures of the business manager's assets, including in Belgium. Without it, victims risk never seeing their money again.
