millions of beneficiaries will be entitled to an exceptional payment in December

CAF's aid for the end of the year is numerous. Moreover, in December, millions of beneficiaries will receive a gift.

Occasional aid from the CAF (Family Allowance Fund) plays a role a crucial role to support families in temporary difficulty. Especially at the end of this difficult year.

The various aids from CAF

In 2024, this aid from CAF, often little known, continue to respond to urgent and varied needs. In a context marked by inflation and increasing precariousness.

In fact, the one-off aid from CAF aim to cover unforeseen needs. And their allocation depends on the situation of each household.

Among the main aids are aid exceptional solidarity. The latter is intended to be paid to low-income families to cover exceptional expenses, such as repairs or unexpected bills.

Daily living assistance is used for urgent purchases related to food, clothing or domestic needs. Moving assistance helps support families who change accommodation.

Particularly for professional or family reasons. Help to childcarepunctual, thus makes it possible to temporarily finance a childcare solution in the event of an emergency.

This aid is subject to criteria, especially the family quotient, income and personal situation. To benefit from it, you must submit a request to the CAF, often accompanied by supporting documents attesting to the difficulty encountered.

How to get help

Social workers can therefore also guide families to these devices. However, faced with a constrained budget, CAF is rolling up its sleeves.

In 2024, faced with increasing demand, CAF has strengthened its priorities to support families the most fragile. But the allocated budgets remain limited.

A significant part of the funds is directed towards large families, single parents. But also recipients in very precarious situations.

These one-off aids therefore respond not only to immediate economic needs. But also contribute to the prevention of situations of debt or social exclusion.

They are part of a global approach of solidarity and support for beneficiaries. In addition to regular benefits such as family allowances or housing assistance.

Moreover, in December, CAF beneficiaries will receive their next transfer. This will cover the benefits due for the month of November: housing assistance, RSA, activity bonus or family benefits, etc.

A payment from CAF in December

This year, something new comes into play. In fact, a second transfer is scheduled a week later, between December 14 and 16.

Announced by the Minister of Solidarity, the Christmas bonus will be paid to some French people from Friday December 13. The minimum amount will be €152.45, but it may be higher for families with children.

For example, it reaches €381.12 for a couple with three children. But then, who can have Christmas bonus? The Christmas bonus is intended for households with modest incomes.

It concerns beneficiaries of certain social minimums. They will therefore have this aid directly via the CAF and certain job seekers can benefit from it, provided they receive the specific solidarity allowance (ASS), retirement equivalent allowance (AER).

Or the fixed bonus for resumption of activity. The beneficiaries of the allowance return to employment (ARE) are not eligible, regardless of their income or family situation.

The Christmas bonus does not concern beneficiaries of the allowance either for adults with disabilities (AAH). Households receiving the basic Paje allowance, unless they also have the RSA.

Low-income French retirees who have the solidarity allowance for the elderly (Aspa) cannot have it. This difference, in force since the creation of the premium in 1998, will not change not this year.
