Will there be trains at Christmas? It could be the title of a bad television soap opera served every year as the end-of-year holidays approach; or an invitation to travel to French railway absurdity… The question is on everyone's lips, on the menu of almost every family meal. Like every time, will the railway unions take SNCF users (15 million travelers every day) hostage, hoping to obtain answers to their protean demands: a moratorium against the dismantling of Fret SNCF, more gentleness in the terms of opening regional lines to competition, more generosity in terms of salary increases, etc.?
The strike of November 21, little attended, was undoubtedly only a first warm-up round. Unless there is a last minute agreement, the social movement should gain momentum from Wednesday December 11, the date from which the CGT-railway workers, the Unsa-railway…
