5 million! It is this remarkable number of vehicles that the Japanese manufacturer Toyota produced at its French site in Onnaing, in the North.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) celebrated the production of 5 million vehicles since the start-up on its site located in Onnaing, in the Nord department (59), on January 30, 2001. The example in question is a unique Toyota Yaris Cross, created by the Toyota European design center in Sophia Antipolis, dressed by the TMMF Painting teams. A Yaris Crosse unveiled in front of an audience of 200 guests present for this celebration, including the Minister for Industry, Marc Ferracci.
“This event marks a real achievement with such a volume reached in less than 24 years and thus marks a new record. It is the fruit of the professionalism and passion of our teams but also of all our partners, suppliers and communities. It demonstrates the site’s ongoing commitment to best meet the expectations of the European market with the quality that makes the reputation of the Toyota brand.” declared Rodolphe Delaunay, the president of TMMF, on site.
Finally, let us recall that, on this Onnaing site, Mr. Delaunay announced the signing of 600 new permanent contracts (employees currently on fixed-term or temporary contracts), including 100 by the end of the current year.
A digital automotive journalist for many years, I also have a strong taste for motor sports.
