“Soignez-moi.ch”, French-speaking pioneer of telemedicine, calls on financiers for help so as not to disappear

  • Since 2019, the Bernese start-up has been offering online teleconsultations reimbursed by health insurance.

  • It came up against the habits of patients and the reluctance of health professionals.

  • To survive, it is launching a call for investors, otherwise it will close its doors on January 31, 2025.

She was nicknamed “Little Thumb in French”. In the fall of 2019, the Bernese start-up Soignez-moi.ch launched into Swiss telemedicine, facing the two giants Medgate and Medi24, leaders in the sector. Alas, five years later, the platform is launching a final call for investors, warning that it will have to close its doors on January 31, 2025. The fault lies in a lack of notoriety: “The platform has not managed to make it sufficiently known to a wide audience and could not exceed the threshold of 20 to 30 daily consultations,” specifies the press release on November 26.

The ambition was great, the proposition strong: a rapid online history, a telemedicine consultation 7 days a week, at an unbeatable price (first 39 francs, then 59) and reimbursed by basic health insurance; independent financing from health funds; and data stored only in secure centers located in Switzerland. The Covid-19 pandemic and the boom in requests for telemedical services – at home, in hospitals and in pharmacies – provided an ideal launch pad for this pioneering project.
