In recent months, hundreds of photovoltaic panels have been installed along the A16 motorway. In Ajoie, this work is currently causing several traffic disruptions. Currently spread across six different sites, completed or in the process of being installed, around 1,800 panels have flowered or planted their seeds in the Jura.
Already six panel fields
In the middle of last year, two photovoltaic fields were grown at Develier and at the Delémont Ouest junction, which was a pilot site analysis project. Two others followed this year in Porrentruy, with a project carried out at the Perche tunnel and a second at the Banné tunnel. Both are already in service.
The largest site is that of the Montaigre tunnel, in Bressaucourt, which accommodates 650 photovoltaic panels, currently being installed, over an area of 1,200 square meters. Their commissioning is planned for the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. “We will continue directly with the establishment of the Neu-Bois tunnel site, in Boncourt, which will be put into service next year,” says Grégory Champion, project manager at cantonal level within the Infrastructure Department in Delémont. This site will have more than 600 panels, spread over 100 square meters.
